What to check and what to do
- Choose the area you want to stay in first, then compare places by their map location, not just the city name.
- When calling a guesthouse, give your dates, number of guests and room type. Ask for the nightly rate, total price and cancellation policy.
- Check the bathroom, hot water, air conditioning or fan, window, noise and Wi-Fi based on what matters to you.
- Send the property your arrival time and ask about late check-in, access with luggage and directions from your drop-off point.
