Questions and answers

Essential answers before applying to FRRO.

What is FRRO and when do you contact them?

FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office) is the registration office of the Indian immigration authority. It handles stay extensions from within India, expiring visas, or Exit Permits for expired visas.

How long does the process take?

In our experience, the process takes about 14 business days, but timelines are set by the FRRO and may vary between offices and cases. It is recommended to apply a few days before your visa expires.

Is the application guaranteed to be approved?

No. We prepare and submit the application professionally and guide you through the process, but the decision rests solely with the Indian Immigration Authority. We are not a government agency and cannot guarantee approval.

What to prepare before applying?

Valid passport, current visa, entry stamp to India, valid C-Form from your accommodation, a stable address in India, and contact details for updates.

Can I apply from outside India?

No. The process is for those physically in India at the time of submission. Those who haven't flown yet can simply issue a suitable visa in advance.

Travelers in India is a private service and does not represent the Government of India. Only India's immigration authority decides whether to extend a stay or issue an Exit Permit.
